The 17 founding members of NOVA PBC on September 26, 1975, the night the church was founded.

The Northern Virginia Primitive Baptist Church was founded on September 26, 1975, with 17 members. The church was originally sponsored by the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church in Statesboro, GA. Four of our charter members remain on the membership roll today. We have had six pastors: Elder Loren Wilson, Elder Hoyt B. Simms, Elder John B. Purser, Elder Emerson Proctor, Elder Craig Campbell, and currently Elder Andrew Tucker.

After spending our first 20 years in a rented facility and then in a renovated house, we moved into our current sanctuary at 9640 Blake Lane, Fairfax, VA in September of 1996. Our congregation has been as diverse as the Washington, D.C. area it was founded in, including families from India, Korea, the Philippines, Liberia, Ghana, Peru, Taiwan, and Colombia, as well as families from throughout the United States.

We welcome visitors as we strive to conduct a worship service that is Biblical in content: positive, upbeat, and joyful in nature; friendly, affectionate, and gracious in spirit; and relational, relevant, and reverent in approach.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”

— Matthew 28:19
